Our 5-year contract with Waste Management ends on December 31/2020. Girard Borough and 5 other municipalities went out for bid and Waste Management was the only bidder. Effective January 1, 2021, Waste Management Inc. will continue to be the refuse and recycling provider to the Girard Borough. According to our contract with Waste Management you have options for waste removal as follows:

$81.30 quarterly              Unlimited weekly trash and pickup and recycling and At Your Door Service

$9.00 quarterly rental      90-gallon toter rental (not required)

$5.50 per bag                  Retail cost of bag service. (If you do not want unlimited service.)

§ 354-10Residential contractors.

A. 

Girard Borough, by its Borough Council, shall designate one entity which shall be responsible for the collection, transportation, disposal, recycling and/or composting of all municipal waste, recyclable materials and leaf waste resulting from or generated by all single-family residential units located in Girard Borough, exclusive of those meeting the definition of a “commercial pickup” under this chapter, as required by state and local laws and regulations.
